The Computer Centre was started in February 1987
with a small setup of six PCs and a Mini Computer. The activities and
the facilities of the Centre have grown over years and today it is
equipped with sixty PCs connected with State of Art Internet
connectivity of National Knowledge Mission's Knowledge Network,
providing 1 giga bit per second linkage to all the global resources
and Indian Universities.
The Centre provides laboratory facility for Information technology
related classes of various diplomas and undergraduate courses for B.Sc,
B.Com, B.B.M, etc. and post graduate courses of faculty Arts,
Commerce, Science, Social Sciences in addition to various vocational
courses for students and unemployed youth being organized by the
Alumni Association AADEIs. The Centre also organizes special course
for new entrants to the University. Special online curses for
Engineering students are organized at the Centre under the INFOSYS
Campus Connect Programme.
The other activities of the centre includes development of Software
for various functions of the University, management of Campus LAN &
Internet linkages and leased lines to satellite campuses. The Centre
staff is actively involved in solving daya to day problems related to
Information Technology. Organization of online recruitment tests by
Tata Motors is regular activity facilitated by the Centre.
The Computer Centre is headed by Dr. Ratan Saini, System Engineer and
is supported by following staff:

The Centre is in the process of developing a Solar Power system for
making use of alternative source of energy. The plan for future is
ready for providing more number of state of art system and services to
the students |
