Study Centres

The Institute has 71 Study Centres in India and 3 abroad, under Distance Education Programme after approval of the Governing Body (the highest Statutory Body) of the Institute vide its resolution no. 71 dated 10.05.2008. The approval of UGC-DEC-AICTE Joint Committee for the Distance Education Programmes has been obtained vide letter no. F.No. DEC/Recog/2009/3161 dated 09.09.09. Of these 71 Study Centres, the 3 oldest Study Centres at DEI Soami Nagar, New Delhi, DEI M.T.V. Puram Study Centre at Melathiruvenkatanathapuram, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu and DEI Rajaborai-Timarni, District Harda, M.P. have been upgraded with Satellite Interactive Terminals to provide additional teaching through synchronous mode. Two of them are located in remote backward areas. These three upgraded Study Centres with satellite connectivity have been renamed Satellite Campuses.
