About the Faculty With the merging of the Departments of Education of the erstwhile Women's Training College and the REI Degree College, the Faculty of Education came into existence in the year of 1981 as one of the Faculties of DEI. It is one of the largest Education Faculties in the country with 300 students and 32 Faculty members. The Faculty of Education aims at preparing dedicated, knowledgeable, skilled, creative and disciplined school teachers for the Indian school system who can perform complex duties ranging from effective classroom teaching to molding the value system of pupils and undertaking administrative responsibilities with sincerity. It thus prepares teacher educators and researchers to play a leading role in their profession. At present, the Faculty consists of two Departments - the Department of Foundations of Education and the Department of Pedagogical Sciences. |
