Prof. V. Soamidas obtained his B.Tech. from the Regional Engineering College, Warangal and his M.Tech. and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He taught at CBIT, Hyderabad, for 4 years before joining DEI in 1994. He teaches Mechanics of Solids, Mechanics of Machines, Mechanical Engineering Design and Mechanics of Composite Materials. His research interests are Composites, Solid Mechanics, Mechanial Design, Finite Element Methods, BioMechanics, Severe Plastic Deformations and Eco-friendly design. He is currently working on a project on hybrid vehicles. He is a life member of various Technical Societies.
