Mr. Gurumukh Das is actively involved in research for the last 5 years and has a teaching experience of one year. He teaches Advanced Manufacturing Systems, Workshop Practice, Operations Planning & Control and Machine Drawing. He has recently designed and developed a Rotary tool attachment for Dry EDM. With the help of this Green-EDM technique, he demonstrated the machining of extremely hard two-phased composites with improved performance parameters. His research interests are Advanced Non-traditional and Hybrid Machining Techniques, Virtual Cellular Manufacturing, Mechanical Fabrications, Intelligent Manufacturing, Foundry Technology and Soft computing applications in Manufacturing. He has 15 publications to his credit in the various journals and conferences. He has worked with a DST R&D Project entitled “Experimentation, modelling and optimization of eco-friendly Rotary furnace castings with LDO, gas & bio-fuels” granted under the prestigious Ramanna Fellowship. He is a Life member of the Indian Society for Technical Education, and the Systems Society of India. He is also a member of The Institution of Engineers (India).
