Prof. Nandita Satsangee is a Professor in the Faculty of Education having more than 30 years of experience in teaching and research with specialisation in English Language Teaching.She has had a bright academic record, winning awards in literary and drama activities. The thrust areas of her research include English language teaching and teacher training, innovative teaching methodologies, Education for Sustainable Development, curriculum development, and studies on intuition among teachers and students. She has been awarded four research projects at the national level, amounting to more than 11 crore rupees. She has authored/co-authored books and chapters and edited several others. She has published over twenty articles in national and international research journals, organised national workshops/conferences, made presentations at national and international conferences and has been invited as an expert in seminars/ conferences /consultative meets, examiner for Ph, D, theses and chairperson in several academic events. She has completed her term as the Dean, Faculty of Education and is currently heading the D.El.Ed programme for teacher education.

In 2019, the Faculty of Education was awarded the prestigious ‘School of Education’ (S0E) project under the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, with a grant of 9.5 crores in which Professor Satsangee was the Principal Investigator.  Under her coordination, the faculty team set up the School of Education with two innovative Centres in teacher education-(a) the Centre for Knowledge Acquisition, Retention and Transformation (C-KART) with sub-fields like Art Integrated Learning (AIL), Brain-Based Learning (BBL) and Consciousness-Based Education (CBE) and (b) the Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Education (CAIE), the first of their kind in the field of teacher education in India. As the Coordinator of the School of Education, she was instrumental in initiating a number of Interdisciplinary research projects, the introduction of AI applications in Education, the production of resource material for teachers and the introduction of 14 new courses related to the two Centres.

With over three decades of teaching and research experience, she has guided and is currently guiding 18 Ph.D. scholars and numerous PG dissertations.

Her academic contributions include national research projects, research publications, and authored/edited books. Prof. Satsangee's administrative, academic and extension work is in alignment with the institutional policy of holistic education, community development, and technology integration in pedagogy.
