Prof. Nandita Satsangee is a Professor in the Faculty of Education, with over three decades of experience in teaching and research, specialising in English Language Teaching (ELT).

The thrust areas of her research include Pedagogy of English (ELT), Intuition, Consciousness, Sustainability, and Conscientiousness in Education.

She has secured substantial research funding, amounting to over INR 11 Crores, from prestigious bodies including the Ministry of Education, UGC, and ICSSR, demonstrating her significant contributions to educational research. Her scholarly output includes several authored and co-authored books, edited volumes, and more than twenty articles in esteemed national and international research journals.

Professor Satsangee has a notable record of academic leadership and service. She recently concluded her term as Dean, Faculty of Education (October 2021-October 2024), and currently spearheads the D.El.Ed program in teacher education. She has also been appointed as Head of the newly launched Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in the Faculty of Education.

A pivotal achievement in her career was her role as Principal Investigator for the Ministry of Education's prestigious 'School of Education' (SoE) project, awarded INR 9.5 Crores in 2019. Under her active coordination the Faculty of Education established the School of Education, featuring two groundbreaking Centres in teacher education – the Centre for Knowledge Acquisition, Retention and Transformation (C-KART), encompassing Art Integrated Learning (AIL), Brain-Based Learning (BBL), and Consciousness-Based Education (CBE), and the Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Education (CAIE). These are the first of their kind in Indian teacher education.

As Coordinator of the School of Education, Professor Satsangee, along with her SoE team, was instrumental in fostering interdisciplinary research, introducing new courses aligned with the two Centres, and establishing five innovative teaching-cum-research labs/studios.

Her commitment to academic mentorship is evident in her guidance of 18 Ph.D. scholars and numerous postgraduate dissertations. Professor Satsangee's administrative, educational, and outreach efforts consistently align with the Institute's commitment to holistic education, community development, and the integration of emerging trends in education.
