Delegation of Mizan Knowledge for Change (K4C) Hub Visits Dayalbagh (K4C) Hub at DEI
A group of delegates from Mizan Knowledge for Change (K4C) Hub, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) visited the Dayalbagh (K4C) Hub, Dayalbagh Educational Institute (Deemed to be University), Dayalbagh, Agra-282005 on 21 February 2024. The Mizan K4C Hub at USIM is responsible for coordinating the UNESCO Knowledge for Change (K4C) and Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) Mentor Training Program (MTP) in the Asia Region. The delegates included Dr. Mahazan Abdul Mutalib, the Regional Coordinator (Asia) for the UNESCO (K4C) Global Consortium and Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Planning and Corporate Communication) at USIM. The other three delegates were Dr. Jadzreill Jaafar and Dr. Hazila Kamaruddin, from the International Youth Centre (IYC), Malaysia and Ms. Ruchika Rai, the Coordinator of Knowledge for Change (K4C) Global Consortium, Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA), based in New Delhi.
The aim of the visiting delegates was to witness as well as exchange ideas on Dayalbagh Educational Institute's community engagement initiatives. They visited Agroecology-cum-precision Farming Fields, Dairy, Site of rejuvenation and restoration of river Yamuna at Baikunth Dham, School of Education, Handicraft Technical Training cum Incubation Centre and also learnt about Life-long Learning and Extension Activities, Self-help Groups, socio-political sensitization in rural communities, etc.
A fruitful hybrid mode interaction regarding community involvement initiatives of DEI, and plans and opportunities for community-based participatory research was held. The delegates were also apprised of the work being done under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, the Free Integrated Medical and Rural Assistance Camps, the uplift of tribal and rural people in Rajaborai, Madhya Pradesh, and the formal school system for underprivileged and rural children. Prof. Jyoti Gogia, Coordinator, Dayalbagh (K4C) Hub, DEI, Prof. Rupali Satsangi, and Dr. Sona Dixit, Mentors, Dayalbagh (K4C) Hub, DEI organized the visit.
