PARITANTRA (September 22, 2012) SIxth Indian Students Systems Conference

PARITANTRA, Sixth Indian Students Systems Conference was organized on September 22, 2012 at the Quantum-Nano Systems Centre and Centre for Consciousness Studies on the theme ‘Toward a Science of Consciousness’.

Paritrantra is a Sanskrit word which stands for ‘all-encompassing general systems’ and true to its meaning, there was huge contribution from all system domains, from humanities and literary systems to educational systems, socio-economic, commerce and business systems, consciousness studies, life-and-physical sciences and engineering systems. This edition of PARITANTRA was organized in advance to serve as a launch pad for students for the mega-event of the Twentieth Conference on Toward a Science of Consciousness (TSC 2013) conference in March 2013.

PARITANTRA featured paper and poster contributions from students at other DEI Chapters of the Society located all over the country in various Distance Education centres. There were 66 oral presentations in 6 sessions and a poster session and the conference witnessed several hours of buzzing activity in all aspects of systems studies with a wide spectrum of topics being discussed. The best presentations of the day were awarded with Young Systems Scientist Awards.

The Valedictory Talk entitled “Codes of Coexistence” was delivered by Prof. T. Karunakaran, Former Director, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Rural Industrialization, Wardha.

XVIII National Systems Conference (NSC 2013) December 5-7, 2013 IIT Jodhpur

The XVIII National Systems Conference (NSC 2013) will be organized by Centre of Excellence in Systems Science, IIT Jodhpur, from December 5-7, 2013 on the theme “Systems Thinking in Social Innovation and Emerging Technologies”.
