Prof. K. Soami Daya, did all her education from kindergarten to Doctorate from Dayalbagh educational Institutions. She specializes in High Frequency Electromagnetic Device Design and Characterization. Her research interests lie in exploring the boundaries of Physics, Biology and Engineering with applications in low-cost diagnostics and therapeutics, she has widely published and filed IP in this area. After completing her doctorate in 2002, Prof. Daya joined Research Centre, Juelich, Germany as research Scientists, where she was working on Universal Mobile Telecommunication Systems, during her tenure she filed patent on MEMS tuneable base station filters being used by Qualcomm. On her return from Germany she worked in Centre for Advanced Research in Electronics (CARE) IIT Delhi and later joined Nokia Siemens Network. During her tenure in the Industry she was reposnible for the deployment of low cost communication networks for the rural India and emerging Markets of the world. In 2007 she joined Department of Physics and Computer Science as Lecturer. Prof. daya is the recipient of Young Systems Scientist Award by Systems Society of India, She has also won MIT COVID-19 Challenge, India Turning The Tide in August 2020 and is incubating a Startup Solvodominum under mentorship of DEI incubation facility.
Presently Dr. Daya is Coordinator, Multimedia Laboratory, Centre for Consciousness Studies and Quantum Nano Systems Centre of the Institute. She is also the Dean, Planning of DEI.
