Report on TC Campus to Corporate Special Lecture Series Lecture No. 3 on 25th January 2025
The D.E.I. Technical College organized a guest lecture on January 25, 2025, with industry experts and job enablers from the Alumni Placement Assistance Cell (North Zone). Held in the Technical College Hall, the event was tailored for final-year Engineering and Technical College students. The program focused on enhancing students' understanding of automobile industry expectations and the sector's evolution driven by innovation, market demands, and environmental challenges.
The event commenced with the Institute Prayer, fostering a respectful and focused environment. Principal Er. V. P. Malhotra graciously welcomed the guest and encouraged students to fully embrace the learning opportunity provided. Subsequently, Mr. Mayank Agrawal, President of the Innovation Cell and Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, delivered the welcome address. He outlined the academic goals of the lecture series, emphasizing the importance of gaining practical insights from industry experts to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications.
Ms. Surat Dewan, Lecturer in the Department of Science and Humanities, introduced the keynote speaker, Mr. Nalin Rawat, Associate General Manager at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Gurgaon. Mr. Rawat delivered a lecture titled “Wheels of Change: The Evolving Landscape”, discussing how the automobile industry is undergoing significant changes. He emphasized advancements in electrification, autonomous technology, and IoT connectivity. He also addressed the rise of EVs, sustainable practices like alternative fuels and carbon neutrality, and shifting consumer preferences, stressing the importance of adaptability amid challenges like supply chain disruptions.
Dr. Purshottam Coordinator Civil Engineering Department, presented a memento to Mr. Rawat in recognition of his efforts.
Dr. Rajeev Yadav expressed gratitude to the distinguished speaker by delivering a Vote of Thanks. The program concluded with the University Song.
Overall, the Lecture was a great success, with Final year students duly apprised of the requirements of the industry and how to prepare for the job market, and counselled to step out of their comfort zone to explore new horizons.
