The Electrical Workshop provides hands on experience in domestic and industrial wiring and testing. Experiments like earth resistance measurement, testing of insulation material and oil, rewinding of rotors and stators etc. are carried out in the workshop. The Department provides an in-house industrial environment through Programmable Logic Controllers and VVVF drives which are used to implement control of various types of AC/DC motors, and through the utilisation of panel controllledsynchronisation of single and three phase alternators etc.
The Electronics section caters to the needs of the electronics industry and trains students in design, manufacture and repair of electronic euipment. Students are exposed to analog and digital circuits, networking and service and testing of electronic equipment. Students also learn about TV, microwave and radar engineering; communications; power electronics, microcontrollers; Programmable Logic Controllers and computer simulation.
