This is known as Phanda.

Lucknow is famous for the work of Chicken work also called white work the most popular embroidery works in India. Chikan work consists of 36 stitches thus there is lot of variety in it. Buttonhole is very useful stitch. It is also used for decorative purposes it is used in many things as Patch work, Cut work, Mirror work, in many scalloped edges, Buttonhole wheel etc.

Back Stitch Of Lucknow

Back stitch and its variants stem stitch, outline stitch, and split stitch are a class of embroidery are sewing stitches in which individual stitch are made backward to the gernel direction of sewing. These slithery from lines and are most often used to outline shapes or to add fine detail to an embroidered picture. This is the strongest and most common stitch in hand sewing. Back stitch used like an outline stitch.
