Since its inception in 1981, the Dayalbagh Educational Institute (Deemed University) has envisioned and successfully implemented an innovative, comprehensive, flexible and value based education system with the mission objective of evolving a complete man (“Total Quality Person”). In pursuance of this objective, the EntrepreneurishipVirtual Incubation Cell (EVIC) seeks to engender within students an intense entrepreneurial drive by fostering innovation with a social relevance.

The EVIC aims to adopt an inter-disciplinary systemic approach,

whereby initiatives will be institute-wide, without regard to departmental barriers. These initiatives will be incubated in-house with the objective of nurturing social entrepreneurs who will focus on providing low cost solutions in the following primary domains: Education (Culture, Values and Quality), Energy, Health, Water and Waste Management. The EVIC will provide all possible assistance to promote creative thinking and an entrepreneurial mindset among the students so as to help convert socially relevant innovative ideas into market accepted products.

Some of the activities envisaged in this direction are:

  • To organize university-wide competitions to promote the ideation process in the following primary domains (Education, Energy, Health, Water, and Waste Management) within each existing mode of education (V/e – DEI – de):
    • Conventional Education;
    • Vocational Education; and
    • Electronic / Distance Education
  • To provide mentorship to potential student entrepreneurs through industry support from alumni (AADEIs).
  • To establish an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Patenting Cell within the umbrella of the VIC.
  • To establish a state-of-the art in-house incubation facility that will nurture and facilitate the entire ‘idea-to-startup’ activity.
