Prof. Sant Prakash

Prof. Sant Prakash has a rich experience of Teaching & Research at the university levels. His areas of teaching interests are Cell & Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Evolution, Environmental Conservation; Gene, Genomics & Bioinformatics; Genetic Diversity Assessments & Statistical applications. He holds keen research interest in the areas like Biochemical & Molecular Genetics; Molecular Evolution; Molecular Microbiology; Quantitative Genetics; Geno-toxicity and ex situ Conservation.

Prof. Sant Prakash has registered 18 Ph.Ds, 25 M.Phil. and 60 PG dissertation works and his students are occupying various high positions in research and administrations. Prof. Prakash has wide administrative experience of being the Academic Council Member, Member Board of Governors, Member Research Screening Committee, Member of the Faculty Board, Chairman of the Board of Studies in Zoology, Member Secretary UGC Innovative Project for Special Paper, Coordinator of the Steering Committee for Integrated Courses, Chief Editor DEI Journal of Science & Engineering Research of the Institute and currently the Head of the Department. Prof Prakash is on the Selection and Academic Board of Various Central and State Universities and Consultancy board of Ministry of Environment and Forest UP. Editorial board member and reviewer for various National and International research Journals. He was also the member of the drafting committee for the National Biodiversity and Strategy Action Plan (NBSAP), Ministry of Environment and Forest and Climate Change.

Prof.  Prakash has contributed 41 Gene Bank Unique Sequences to NCBI, USA. He has over 60 research publications, articles, 4 books chapters/technical reports, and 4 review articles to his authorship credit. Various Research projects sanctioned by UGC and DST have su been successfully completed. He is also in the Advisory board of various Government and Non Government Institutions. He is a member of the IUCN Species Survival Commission. He remains Jury member of the DST INSPIRE programme.
