Dr. Kumar is working as an Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Dayalbagh Educational Institute (Deemed University), Dayalbagh, Agra (India). He has research and teaching experience of more than 14 years. His main research area is Environmental Analytical Chemistry. His research focuses on aerosol and traces gas Characterization; dry and wet deposition chemistry; parameterization; bio-aerosol, radiative forcing; climate change and public health. He has published more than 30 research papers in national and international journals of repute and contributed more than 60 papers in conferences/seminars. His work has been highlighted in the form of prestigious National and International Awards and fellowships such as the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) Young Scientist Award 2002; AGU Travel Award  2002 of AGU (American Geophysical Union), USA; Senior Research Fellowship from CSIR, Govt. of India,2002; Junior Scientist of the year 2003 by International Body of National Environmental Science Academy (NESA), New Delhi; DST (Department of Science and Technology) Fast Track Young Scientist Project Award 2004; START Young Scientist Award by START (System for Analysis Research and Training) Scientific Steering Committee, AGU (American Geophysical Union), USA, 2004; DST Award for participation in 55th Meeting of Nobel Laureates at Lindau, Germany, 2005; Best poster presentation award in ENPARACOHI, 2007; Berkner Fellowship of American Geophysical Union, USA, 2008. He has also received the position of Scientist GR (IV) in RRL (CSIR), Jorhat, 2006. His biography has been included in the “Marquis Who is Who” 10th Edition, 2007. Dr. Kumar has been a part of various research organization of national and international repute. He has visited Germany, USA and Nepal. He has delivered more than 20 invited talks in India and abroad, including two highly educating talks on All India Radio. Apart from being a prolific academician, he has been resourceful as member organizing committee, coordinator, member executive committee, organizing secretary, etc. in a number of scientific programmes. His main teaching area is Applied Chemistry; Environmental Chemistry; Environmental Safety; Inorganic Chemistry; Spectroscopy and Instrumentation; Research Methodology; Environmental Pollution Control; Environmental Impact Assessment; Solid Waste Management etc. He is Programme Officer (National Services Scheme), Faculty of Science of the Institutes. Dr. Kumar is a member, Executive Council of Indian Council of Chemists. Dr. Kumar is a member of editorial team of the journal of Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology, 2010. He is also a fellow of the Society of the Earth Scientists, Lucknow and member of a  number of scientific bodies viz., NASI, Allahabad; IASTA, Mumbai; IAAPC, Barodra; NESA, New Delhi; ISCA, Kolkata; ICC, Agra; SSI, Agra and AGU, USA. He has been bestowed with Affiliate Members of International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), USA in 2011. He is Associate of Committee on Space Research (COSPAR), USA. He was also Visiting Professor at Washington University in St. Louis, USA in 2014.
