The Textile Design Programs are offered under the umbrella of Technical College, Women Polytechnic, Prem Vidyalva, Distance Education and Faculty of Arts.

With the modest inception in 1988 with the certificate program, 1991 saw the introduction of PG Diploma in Textile Designing under Department of Drawing and Painting, from where the journey started, today Textile Designing is offering PG Diploma, Diploma, Certificate, Modular, Vocational stream being offered at Prem Vidyalaya and is being run in Distance mode in 16 centers around the country.

With excellent placements, UGC, minor research project, MHRD vocational pilot project, 210 research dissertations completed, more than 25 exhibitions held, numerous national and international dignitaries visit to see the high standard of work being taught here.

The mode and sequence of presentation of the course material for various courses is extremely innovative, for practical’s the students are first shown DVDs prepared in house. In the course of theoretical lessons the students are given hand outs and the lectures are through discussions and interaction, which is supported by latest audio visual aids making learning fun. The student’s work with digitizers and their software pallet is CorelDraw, AdobePhotoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Wilcom, iMovie, Pages, Keynote, Garage band to name a few.

160 DVDs 10 books for Certificate and 30 DVD’s and two books for modular have been written, edited, Avi’s taken and rendered in the Department by the Faculty, certificate in 4 languages i.e. English, Hindi, Telegu and Tamil. The faculty has designed course curriculum for four states, written 5 print books, 7 e-books, 30 research papers, presented, chaired national and international seminars, workshops, conferences, winning awards for best paper presentations. Consultancy work has been extended to Government of India small-scale industry and Hast Shilp Vikas Nigam Madhya Pradesh.
