We are running a 3years diploma (after 10th class) in Textile designing which is being attended by weaker section of the society or school dropouts, this will continue to run, and their has been a marked difference in the students when they joined in the first year and now.

P.G. Diploma in Textile Designing has been running for more then 15years with excellent results of 75% placements.

We have very recently also started preparing lessons on DVD, which will benefit of the remote areas of the country with professional skill of Textile Designing.
Broad Objectives of Programme
At Foundation/certificate Level, the structure is being designed to prepare 10th pass girl students to learn basic skills and design concepts to progress to general areas of Textile design studies. Specifically students with varied background will be introduced to visualization and conceptualisation skills, design concepts, tools, techniques of design, industry, art/ culture and market to design-framework.
1st year Diploma aims to further develop sensitivity in design and acquire basic knowledge and skills for textile designing. Students will progress to core area of Textile Design study, where the main inputs include textile design, material and related technology, business and market in context to the textile areas of weaving, knitting, printing and surface ornamentation. Foundation and 1year is a period of intense support, close monitoring and guidance in the process of learning by teachers with long contact hours.
As students will graduate to 2nd year, the subject knowledge will be applied to projects, with integration of business, industry & technology.
3rd year will be focusing on area of further research and exploration in student’s area of interest and enables a student through its structure to further deepen their knowledge and skills.
Advance P.G. level aims to produce a creative, well-informed and motivated textile design professional with an ability to analyse, synthesize and conclude various complex issues related to design, planning and technical management.
Work being done in the field of Research and contribution for the future of Textile Industry.
- Created a digital library of designs and having digitized record readily accessible information in this area.
- The section has written and published 10 books on Textile Design in three languages namely English, Hindi, Tamil and the fourth language Talagu is underway.
- Created 160 DVD’s of 30 min each in three languages. Creating story board, Shooting, editing, rendering have all been done at Textile Design DEI.
- 175 Design Projects from diverse fields have been successfully completed; there has been tremendous pressure from Academicians, Educational Institutes, and Government bodies to have them published.
- To advise and train local artisans Madhya Pradesh government invited the students along with their teacher.
- Influenced by Bhimbettika experimental designs done on Silk saris by Batik Technique have been adapted by Hastshilp Vikas Nigam (Madhya Pradesh) for their exports as well as Local market.
