A number of activities are being carried out by the department as part of the extension activities:

• Regular Remedial Teaching is imparted by teachers for  the  weak students and students of weaker section of society.
• Synchronous PG Diploma in Journalism: The option of PG Diploma in Journalism is offered to students in NCR region through video conferencing.
• E- classroom has been set up in the department to facilitate teaching through distance mode.
• PGDJMC course is also available in the distance mode at four centresviz. Secunderabad(Hyderabad), Mumbai, SoamiNagar( New Delhi), Karolbagh(New Delhi).
• Lessons in Spoken English are transmitted to different DEI centresin India.
• Academic support is given to DEI schools in Murarand Rajaborari, by way of reviewing the syllabus, books, having discussions with the teachers in those schools.
• DES Drama Festival is organized annually
• Organization of DES Literary Festival is in the offing
• In collaboration with Day Boarding Centre D.E.I. ‘ Spoken English Classes’ are transmitted for children of rural areas – Murar (Bihar), Rajaborari (MP)
• A Faculty Member was deputed at MTV Puram (Tamilnadu) for two years to conduct Spoken English classes for the children of marginalized section.
• Faculty members are also involved in the translation of scriptures of Radhasoami faith.
