The department enjoys wide recognition which enables the graduating students securing admission in the higher degree/ professional courses within the institute as well as other renowned universities/ institutions of the country and abroad.

Students also enjoy a distinct advantage in the matter of employment in government and many reputed corporate organisations and a good number of them are offered positions through campus recruitment, even before their results are declared.

Different forums and learning resources of the institute, such as, Institute-Industry Participation Cell (IIPC), DEI Alumni Placement Assistance Cell (DEIAPAC), DEI Computer Centre, Faculty Library, DEI Central Library, DEI Multimedia Centre, University Scientific Instrumentation Centre (USIC), INFLIBNET, PROWESS, PROQUEST database, and statistical softwares (e.g. SPSS, STATA) etc. facilitate the placement and personality development programs for the benefit of the students. Over a period of time, Faculty Training and Placement Cell has made remarkable achievements in terms of on/ off-campus placement of students in the companies of high repute. The students of the department have been performing remarkably well in all spheres of life. They have won many prestigious scholarships including UGC JRF. They have been toppers of ICSI, rank holders of ICAI, ICSI, and also qualified civil services examinations. The alumni of the Department occupy distinguished positions in almost all spheres of society, government, bureaucracy, banking, insurance, finance, general management, civil services, academics, business, journalism and mass media. Many of them are also successfully managing their own business / professional establishments in India and abroad.
