Evaluation Criteria

The competition will be judged by experts and professionals, who will look for the student’s ability to clearly convey an idea and the value proposition represented in a professional manner.  Selection of the winners from among the top 10 finalists will be based on the student’s commitment to innovation, their ability to tackle challenging scientific questions, the use of sound research practices, and their ability to address predictions about potential changes in the market or obstacles to implementation of their idea.

·         Development of low cost, ultra fast urine, stool and blood test kits.

·         Development of non-invasive blood sugar measuring devices / production of low cost glucometers.

·         Development of low cost devices to detect iron and calcium deficiency in women.

·         Mass production of herbal drinks (such as Amla Squash, Panna and Aloe Vera Juice) to replace soft drinks and colas.   

·         Development of recycling systems for hospital waste as an alternate source of energy.

·         Development of technology for production of low cost herbal drugs on mass scale.

Water:

·         Development of low cost micro-irrigation systems

·         Low cost water purification systems

Awards / Prizes

There will be three final winners from amongst the applicants. Each winner will be awarded the DEI Entrepreneurship Award for a total prize money of Rs. 2,40,000/-, paid monthly @ Rs. 20,000/- per month for one-year. 

In addition, each winner will have the opportunity to avail all the facilities in the DEI EVIC for nurturing their idea to a full-scale marketable product together with mentored guidance and support from successful entrepreneurs and industry experts.
