Dr. Shabd Preet is teaching Cell Biology, Animal Physiology, Parasitology and Comparative Anatomy at under graduate and post graduate level. Her research interests are Parasite and Vector control using nanotechnology approach. She was awarded GATE and CSIR-NET in 1994. She was also awarded a five year project by UGC under the scheme of Part-time  Research Associateship for Women under UGC IX Plan period from 1999-2004 on the topic,”Study on the snails and larval digenes as indicator of environmental health in aquatic systems of Agra ”. She has authored 26 research publications in journals of international repute and received several Best Paper Presentation awards. She has successfully completed one UGC Major Research Project and one DST Fast Track project. She is life member of Indian Society of Parasitology,  National Environment Science Academy and System Society of India.
