Head - Prof. Sanjeev Swami

Prof. Sanjeev Swami is a Professor and the Head of the Department of Management, DEI, Agra, India. His PhD is in Business Administration from the UBC, Canada, M. Tech. in Industrial Management from IIT Kanpur, and BE in Industrial Engineering from Allahabad. He has consulted international organizations like Pathe (Holland), EWW(USA), TERI and BHEL (India). He has been associated as the Faculty with UBC, Canada, IIT Kanpur, IIM Bangalore, IIITM, Gwalior, and Rotterdam School of Management. He has published several research papers in prestigious journals like Marketing Science, Interfaces, M&SOM, Marketing Letters, IJPE, Vikalpa, DEIJSER, AOR, JORS, and Journal of Cleaner Production. He has received career research awards by AICTE and DST, India. He has won Fellowships by American Marketing Association and UBC. His research contributions have been recognised in the form of Emerald Literati Network Awards, The European Marketing Academy (EMAC) and Elsevier Award, AIMS International Award, and an honourable mention in Economic Times.

Historical Milestone

  • A PG course was started in Faculty of Commerce as MBM (Master of Business Management) in Dayalbagh Educational Institute (Deemed University) in the year 1991
  • Subsequently, in year 1993, the course BBM (Bachelor of Business Management) was introduced.
  • The Management Programme became part of Faculty of Social Sciences in 1994.
  • In 2002, the title of the MBM degree was changed to MBA (Business Management).
  • In 2006, the Department of Management was established as an independent department in Faculty of Social Sciences, DEI.

  • BBA Online (Distance Education) started in the year 2009.

  • In the year 2011, MBA programme got recognized by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
  • In the year 2012 through Curriculum redesign workshop of Co-Prime, new MBA programme Co-operative MBA started

  • In 2016, MBA (Agriculture Management), Integrated MBA with PG Degree/Diploma, Dual Degree, PG Diploma in Urban Planning & Management and Post Doctoral Programmeswere introduced.

  • Bachelors of Vocational course in Banking & Finance and  PG Certificate course in Financial services were started in the year 2017.

  • In the year 2019, BBA (Retail), BBA (Logistics) and PG Diploma as well as MBA in Waste Management were introduced in the department.

  • MBA (General Management), MBA (Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Venture Development) and Master of Arts (Business Management) were started in the year 2020.
