Prof. Ira Das is at present Professor Emeritus in the Deptt. of Psychology, DEI, Dayalbagh, Agra. She has retired as Professor and Head, Deptt. of Psychology, DEI in 2016 after 40 years of experience in research and teaching  P.G. classes in Psychology. Her areas of specialization are Motives and Emotions, Psychometrics, Health Psychology and Psychology of Consciousness. She has completed 5 research projects financed by UGC and has guided 12 Ph.D students, 2 post doctoral fellows (PDF), M.Phil and M.A. research projects.

 She has presented hundreds of research papers in International and National Seminars and Conferences and has organized various workshops and seminars. Her research papers were awarded as best in International Seminars in 1997 and 2011. More than 100 research papers have been published in journals in Psychology. She has also constructed and standardized various tests like tests of Mental Affliction measuring Egotism, Attachment, Greed and Anger; Life Style Scale and Time Management Scale etc.
