The department has established a good reputation. Its faculty has received awards and recognition for their research work in international and national conferences as mentioned in the profile. They have been invited to Chair/Co-chair sessions in International and National conferences, as guest speakers at academic forums. Students have also won awards and recognitions. One student awarded Cash Price of Rs. 5000 in Poster making competition from "All India Confederation of Blind National Poster Competition" New Delhi on entitled `Louis Braille and Empowerment of the Blind', 2007. One student awarded Bronze medal in painting from in "National Art Competition" orgaized by Sanket Academy, Ujjain, 2010. One student awarded Ist prize in painting competition organized by Shri Ram Child Welfare Foundation, Agra, 2011. Two students awarded consolation prize in painting competition organized by Shri Ram Child Welfare Foundation, Agra, 2011.

At present, 4 Work-experience Courses in -

2 Certificate Courses in Commercial Art and Photography and 1 Advance Certificate Course in Commercial Art are running.

The faculty is actively involved in various academic activities other than teaching and research that include designing  courses, maintaining various laboratories, library and general discipline, preparing question banks for each course and for the Institute entrance examination, managing placements, conducting examinations, evaluation, assessments, tutorials and organizing grade moderation, class and proctorial committee meetings. Besides this, teachers have contributed by writing as many as 10 books for use in distance education. One faculty member is coordinator of courses run by DEI Women’s Polytechnic and Distance Education programme on Textile Design and Printing Technology.
