D. Bhagwan Das obtained B.Sc.(Engineering) in Electrical Engineering from Dayalbagh Educational Institute (D.E.I.), Dayalbagh, Agra in 1990, M.Tech. (Power Systems) from IIT, Delhi in 1992 and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Soft Computing Applications in Power System Optimization) from D.E.I. in 1999. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, D.E.I. in 1992 and became Professor in 2012. His research interests include Smart Renewable Energy Microgrids, Agrivoltaics, Embedded Systems, FPGAs/SOC applications in Power Systems, and soft computing. He coordinated the design and commissioning of 850 kWp Distributed Solar Electric Power Plants in the Dayalbagh Educational Institute. He is an active researcher and carried out several Research and development projects funded by DST Mission Innovation, AICTE, and UGC. He has successfully completed consultancy projects with M/s ReNew on the design and deployment of 35MW Wind-Solar hybrid power plant controller in 2024 and  M/s BHEL, Bangalore on the design and deployment of sun-tracking elevated structure for Agrivoltaic Farm in 2016. He has received AK Sinha Memorial Prize for securing highest CGPA in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT, Delhi in 1992, ISCA Young Scientist Award in Engineering Sciences in 2002 and SSI Varshney award in 2016. He has two patents and several publications in International and National Journals. He has co-authored two G20 policy briefs. He is a member of the Core Expert Panel of Solar Energy Research and Development of the DST and an expert in the dedicated working group under FAD 22 of Bureau of Indian Standards for development of National Standard on Agrivoltaics farming production system. He is the Vice-President of Systems Society of India and Senior Member of IEEE, USA.
