Dr. Kumar RatnakarDr. Kumar Ratnakar has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering since Nov 2012. He earned his Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Dayalbagh, Agra.
He has taught a broad range of courses, including Manufacturing Processes-1, Engineering Thermodynamics, Metrology and Measurements, Statistical Quality Control, Operations Management, Materials Management, Biomechanics etc. Dr. Ratnakar actively mentors undergraduate and postgraduate projects and supervising doctoral research scholars also.
His research interests primarily focus on Biofuels, energy systems and Industrial engineering. He has presented several research papers at national and international conferences and seminars and has published articles in reputed journals as well as book chapters.
In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Ratnakar has been holding various administrative responsibilities including Coordinator, DEI Seminar Hall Complex, In-charge, DEI X-Ray centre ( Part of Industrial Kinesiology Lab), Faculty representative IQAC, GeM Buyer, FoE, MTech/ MBA (Integrated) Coordinator, and In-charge of Metrology Laboratory, Industrial Kinesiology Lab, SQC Lab.
He has also served as NSS Program Officer, Convener and Co-Convenor for events such as the Winter Training Camp and the Republic day, and Proctor.
Dr. Ratnakar holds Life Membership in several professional societies:
- The Institution of Engineers (India),
- The System Society of India (SSI),
- The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE),
He has also been involved in coordinating industrial visits and training programs for undergraduate students. Furthermore, he has contributed as a subject expert and examiner for external university examinations, and jury member for state-level competition.
